Forgive me readers for I have sinned. It’s been over a week since my last post. Yowza. How did that happen? One word: life.
Let’s do a little catch up, shall we?
First things first, Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Such a great man who taught so many about overcoming hate and teaching that we are all EQUAL. May he rest in peace and his teachings go on to the next generations. We need his words now more than ever.
Since I last left you all I got my USATF coaching certification and was keeping on with my own training for the Rock N Roll New Orleans Marathon and the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim that was to be held yesterday. Sadly, the swim was cancelled due to very rough weather conditions. I’m bummed I didn’t get to swim but at the end of the day, it’s all about the cause and I raised $2,155! That’s more than my goal of $2,000 and I’m really glad I could help out. The ceremony and after party were still held yesterday and we honored the fallen. It was great to see Coach Steve and Esther as well as many other friends.
I’m glad the swim event has passed though because now it’s full focus on Nola. I’m not quite sure of my goal just yet. I know I have been saying I’d like to Boston Qualify, I just don’t know if I feel confident in being able to hold that pace for 26.2 just yet. I’m giving myself this final five weeks to decide on my goal.
I promise to post more this week! I leave you with Lloyd (back row) and friends, because it’s Monday and you need some more cute in your lives.
Congrats on getting the certification and hitting the fundraiser goal!
