Sometimes life is funny. But not in like a “I tripped and chipped a tooth” kind of way. Funny in a “life IS rainbows and butterflies” way.
You all know that I was having very cranky shins and calves lately so I opted to purchase some compressions socks and sleeves. I got the socks on my way home from a terrible run a couple of weeks ago and they made a HUGE difference. I don’t care if it’s placebo or not, they made my angry shins and calves so much happier. After the run I knew I’d be wearing the crap out of those socks so I figured I’d order some calf sleeves because I’m running a lot in the summer and I may want to take them off mid-run if I get hot.
I wound up ordering a pair from a brand called SLS3. While I loved all the bright colors, I figured ordering a safe-matches-everything black pair was the way to go.
As super-awesome-yay-email luck would have it, I got an email from SLS3 the next week asking me if I’d like to do a review and giveaway*. To which I answered, “Does a fat baby poop?”
I told them I had ordered a pair but they were swell enough to send me another pair to review. And this time I chose the butterfly print that I had been eyeballing from the jump.
Could only better if they were unicorns. |
I busted my new calf sleeves out on my long run on Sunday and they felt super supportive and compression-y. Plus, again, butterflies. They were comfortable enough for the entire 2 hour run and my shins and calves weren’t nearly as sore after as they were on previous long runs. I wore them again last night for my treadmill “hills” workout. (And had to awkwardly ask another gym patron to take my photo.)
And not to skip the details of theses bad boys, they feature:
• 20-30 mmHG of graduated compression
• Seamless TekWeb technology• Muscle Stability• Increased Bloodflow
• Cooling effect and UV protection

Compression socks domy work with my injuries to wear while running, but I need to wear them more when i fly. So many hours I the air, they'd prob make a difference.
I would love to try these. I am checking out their site next.
I love me some bright colored calf sleeves! My current ones are bright green 🙂
So now im interested to try it. I just realized I am 6 weeks away from my race and my calves are being super rude. Ive tried just about everything but this.
I love compression gear after a hard workout. And the butterflies on these make them a must have!
Do you feel like the socks cramp your toes? I've never bought a pair because I hate having tight things on my toes.
Sleeves are the best! Then I can still rock my favorite running socks. Thankya Beth!

I have yet to own a pair of compression sleeves. Now these would be awesome.
I've tried one pair of compression socks from another brand and they just didn't do anything for me. I'd love to try this brand!
Love the butterflies! The only other brand I've tried weren't compression-y enough. May have to give these a go when I get back to running in a couple weeks and have "new runner" problems.
I love compression socks! I have never tried running with them, but for post-long run recovery, they cannot be beat! I used to always get soreness in my ankles and upper foot after a long run but no longer!
AWESOME! I love good compression and use it often for runs over 7 or 8 miles. I'm always in search of new sleeves and socks, so this is perfect! Love those butterflies!
I have a pair of full SLS3 socks used for running and they are my one of my prized pairs. They compare more than favorably with the other well-known brands.
Compression FTW! So glad they're helping out. Plus, they'll look good at Grandma's 😉 I've been wearing my CEP compression for every long run, and they make a big difference (placebo or not!).
Love compression sleeves! The fact that you gave a discount code I had to get a pair. Not butterflies though! Can't wait till try them out.

I'm a big fan of compression. I just celebrated my 40th birthday this weekend by running back-to-back marathons, The Horse Capital in Lexington, KY and the Cleveland Marathon in Ohio. I wore compression socks during both runs and compression pants while in the car and when I was sleeping. It was quite the weekend and highly suggest it for anybody who wants to celebrate a milestone in a big way!
I've never tried SLS3 compression socks, but I love another pair that I have. I use them as much for traveling as I do for running. They really come in handy!
I would love to try these socks. I love their butterfly print they have on their sleeves.
