Run 124 miles
Swim 3 miles
Strength 1 session with Coach Jon & my Tribal Multisport buddies (More on this below…)
Yoga Nada.
Current Reads I finished The Poisonwood Bible and I really enjoyed it. There’s a lot of mixed emotions about Barbara Kingsolver’s political views, but I still found this book entertaining and enlightening. I’m currently reading The Art of Racing in the Rain and I’m struggling through it thus far.
Current Obsession Compression socks. My shins have been murder this week. I bought two pair and am debating a full pants pair. Ha. I’m hopeful they get better. I’ve got a marathon next month. Eek!
Current Song I was recently feeling Hall & Oates so I got their greatest hits album and I’ve been jamming at my desk. M-E-T-H-O-D-O-F-L-O-V-E….
Current Need Healthy legs. In addition to my dumb shins I have a bizarre pain in the middle of my right thigh. It hurts when I walk but not when I run and it doesn’t feel like I pulled anything. Like I said, bizarre.
Current Triumph Loving my job. No for real. This is a big triumph for me.
Current Bane of My Existence Besides dumb shin and thigh pain, I have nothing to complain about. I wish more folks would really think about the stuff they do complain about. Big picture people, big picture.
Current Goal Last month I talked about building muscle and sadly I had to ease up on the strength training sessions. I couldn’t go enough to acclimate and they were hurting my long runs. Sads. But, in being positive I’ll add a goal to focus on what I CAN do. And that’s run! Hit my plan 100% this month. It’s almost go time.
Current Indulgence It’s not exactly current, but I signed up for a donut race! It’s a run 1.5 miles, eat 6 donuts, and then run another 1.5 miles to the finish. I. Cannot. Wait.
Current Blessings I have so much when so many have so little. I am heartbroken for Nepal and hope they get more aid.
Current Excitement The weekend. Sometimes it’s as simple as being excited about your couch.
The Art of Racing in the Rain is really good (or at least I liked it). It gets better as it goes on.
And way to hit all of your runs! Now just think positive thoughts for your shins!
Yay for donuts, boo for unexplained pain and cycling 🙂 xo
Boo for leg pain 🙁 Hope the compression helps (I've been obsessed with my compression socks, too, even wearing them running, which has never happened until recently). The donut race! Sounds awesome!
Donuts? Yay!! Boo for stoopid people who are #ungrateful. (Oops, did I say that out loud?)
I have wanted to do the Krispy Kreme race in NC for ages! I must google to see if there is a knock off version of that around here.
Poisonwood Bible is one of those books that I feel like I should have read years ago but just haven't gotten around to it. I have recently broken up with a few TV shows in hopes I will have more time to read so will add that one to the list!
I really enjoyed The Art of Racing in the Rain. And a race with donuts? Holy yum!
