As a person who can get bogged down with life’s trivial problems, when friends reach out to me about others who are going through real struggles I take note and count my blessings. There are so many people in the world who are going through so much that I wish I had more money to donate and maybe magical healing powers too. Those would definitely come in handy.

On the money side of things, since I have been a fundraiser before for certain events and charities, I 100% feel that ANYTHING helps. I myself can forgo a $5 latte to donate to people (or animals!) in need.

Today, I’d like to tell you about two people who could use support and some virtual hugs and lots of prayers. (And a few bucks couldn’t hurt either.)

Meet Jake.

Jake’s mom used to run with my track group and our coach sent out an email about him. Jake was diagnosed with T-cell ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). Since this is going to cost Jake’s parents so much in medical bills and they will need to take time off to be by his side they have set up a fundraising page to get help. Again, any amount helps. Read all about Jake and donate: HERE.

Meet Michelle.

Michelle is a friend of a friend who was diagnosed with brain cancer. She completed her first marathon in February and was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor on March 14. She and her husband started a team for a local race called Miles for Moffitt. This race supports the Moffitt Cancer Center and has raised nearly $1.5 million and funded 27 researchers and their cancer research programs since 2006.

Michelle’s team is called “Too Inspired by What’s Transpired.” In creating a team Michelle is showing that she’s exactly what her tattoo says she is: a fighter. She’s also helping so many others by creating this team and fundraising. You can join the team if you are local and running the race or you can lend support through monetary donation. Michelle’s team link is HERE.

I’m going to donate personally to both. I’m by no means rich but I do know that any little bit helps and if these were my loved ones you can bet I’d be knocking down doors and shouting from the rooftops to get help. Wouldn’t you?

P.S. Cancer sucks. Let’s kick it’s ass.
