Holy moly, it’s December. Just a month to go until it’s 2015. Where are the flying cars and personal robot maids? Lame. Ha! Here’s a look back at my November. It was a steady month of rebuilding and getting to enjoy different workouts and sleep in a bit.
Run 93 miles
Bike 19 miles
Swim 0 miles
Strength 3 yoga classes and two strength training sessions with Coach Jon (DOMS for days!)
Races Las Vegas 1/2 Marathon and Turkey Trot 5K
Current Reads I read The Alchemist on the flight to Las Vegas. It was quick read and makes you think about your path in life and if you’re doing what you should be. Deep. I’m currently reading a nonfiction book, The Heart of Everything That Is. It’s fascinating. I’m a big fan of Native American history and this story is gripping. I’ve never heard of Red Cloud prior to this book and he was a force to be reckoned with.
Current Obsession This recipe for breakfast. I’m hooked. I could eat it every single day.
Current Song Not a thing right now. Any recs?
Current Need A new bed. Ours is not very comfortable anymore. If only they weren’t so dang expensive.
Current Need A new bed. Ours is not very comfortable anymore. If only they weren’t so dang expensive.
Current Triumph I’m working with a nutrition coach and learning to make healthier meals. As it turns out, I suck at eating vegetables.
Current Bane of My Existence Planks. Why are they so hard?
Current Goal Hopefully I can hit 100 running miles this month AND maybe hit the pool again.
Current Indulgence Online shopping. It was Cyber Monday, after all.
Current Blessings Health insurance. That’s a blessing, right? I had to have blood work done for some wonkiness that appears to be thyroid or parathyroid related. I’ll keep you guys posted.
Current Excitement We are headed to Islands of Adventure this weekend and I am stoked to FINALLY see all the Harry Potter amazingness. And of course, Grinchmas!!!
Have a great day!
Fantastic numbers for someone who competed in an IRONMAN not so long ago!! I just happen to be a music junkie, like tonight I am seeing Tony Furtado!! He is more than amazing!!! I surf through a web site called archive dot org where "tapers" post shows they have recorded. In my own model of the world of working out music consist of Umphery's McGee, The String Cheese Incident, Wide Spread Panic, Animal Liberation Orchestra, & I have recently unearthed some Steve Kimock. And Yes, spend the $$$ on a high end bed, totally worth it, most furniture stores will allow you to keep the bed for a 90 day trail, take advantage of it, don't just settle. Last but not least, I am looking forward to all the Harry Potter PHOTOS!!! Enjoy the rest of the week & Stay Strong. Cheers
I am jealous of your Islands of Adventuring! I went there 100 years ago and it was pretty much the best ever
And by 100 I mean 12
I'm still impressed that you got on the bike again! 100 mile in december is well within your grasp. So is a little water play time. What a fun month you had! You should write more about the nutritionist, I love hearing about those guys. I wouldn't mind being one of those guys.
Ninety-three miles?! I'm impressed. My coach would be livid with me! (I ran 43:) That breakfast looks amazing! And, we're in dire need of a new bed, too… been looking at the Casper… it's inexpensive (at least compared to all others) and comes in a box!
