Since tri training is upon me, I’m thankful for the triathlon.
Sure, the triathlon makes me so nervous I could crap my pants before the race even starts, but it also makes me feel so amazing when I complete one that I highly recommend everyone does at least one in their lifetime. And I don’t want to hear about the “I can’t swim part” because while I had a background in swimming, an open water swim is a whole different animal than swimming in a nice, flat chlorinated pool. Not to mention all of my bicycling issues. I’m straight up Thee Stooges on the bike. Ha!
The back story is that I started this triathlon thing on a whim. I swam in high school but hadn’t ridden a bike since I was maybe eleven, but I figured, I was wasting any swim talent I still had on not at least attempting one. My first ever triathlon was a sprint and I completed it with a borrowed bike and more jitters than I have ever felt before a race. Quite honestly, I’m still a total noob in the triathlon world. I certainly don’t look like this:
However, on the plus side, I do get to see a lot of this:
Rawr!
Anywho, the triathlon pushes me way out of my comfort zone and I have so much to improve upon that each and every race I learn something new. I’m thankful for the challenge and the butt kicking. And yeah, the eye candy doesn’t hurt either…
What are you thankful for today?
Don't sell yourself short. You are a beautiful woman and make nice eye candy yourself.
triathlon HOORAY! also, have you picked an october 70.3 yet, because I have one for you.
My first tri was hilarious. I didn't know how to use the gears on my borrowed bike, but my brother was using my beach cruiser with a half flat back tire, so at least I wasn't the saddest person out there.
Hey who is that Anonymous guy? I'm never going over to the dark side! Those tri-geeks drink too much…… LOL
I likes bikes. I am sorta stuck on the bike picture. Was there anything else important after that?
Ok apparently I'm doing the wrong triathlons 🙂
I agree with coach EK. I also agree with being thankful for triathlons. Although some days it makes you more tired, most days it feels great to have something else to improve on! And the endurance part is a great feeling when you nail a race that were prepared for! Anonymous is correct as well!
RAWR indeed!!!!
And I am thankful for inspiring people like you to keep me motivated!!!! xoxo!
I'm always thankful for triathlon too. if only for the hot lifeguards.
thanks for the beefcake! LOL We all need something to be thankful for!
See, that last one is a big reason I like triathlon too.
Thanks for reminding me every week of all the awesome stuff there is to be thankful for 🙂
