With Ragnar looming I have been thinking a lot about sleep. I am not one of those people who can sleep 6 hours and get up all bright eyed and bushy tailed. I need 8 hours. My body alarm actually wakes me up exactly after 8 hours.
Yeah, I am a little nervous about the sleep situation during Ragnar. I will be packing caffeine like Rambo packs heat.
Thus, this Thankful Thursday is a two parter.
1. I am thankful for sleep.
2. I am thankful for caffeine.
Normally, I like my caffeine in coffee form, but sometimes I take in Crystal Light Energy water flavoring packets. I guess I could always bring some caffeinated Gu’s, but I don’t think I need all the extra carbs and sugars for the short-ish legs (Sigh. No, my actual legs aren’t short. The legs I am running are!).
What are you thankful for today?
Good luck with your run this weekend!
Sounds like it should be fun.
Good luck this weekend! Sounds like it should be interesting!
You're worried about sleep? She who passes out on trains head down on her lap? Pssshhhh….
I bet $5 you sleep more than I do! LOL!
Sunshine and my health!
Good luck don't stress just enjoy!
I am thankful for my family today! 🙂
You are gonna be fine! I am sure all the excitement of the race and the stench of the van will keep you awake! 🙂 But I am like you – the older I get the more important and sacred my sleep becomes! Have a blast girly! 🙂
I was so nervous before the Hood to Coast in Aug, but it turned out to be great. Just go with the flow, suck up the moment and you will be fine. I'm thankful that I am back to running even if it is just two minutes at a time. At least that's something right?
5-Hour Energy shots! Or Rockstar! You're going to rock those legs, girl! 🙂
Sleep is overrated! I wish I could get eight hours……. You'll do fine.
um – – you will get very little sleep – try to get it when you can at the big rest stops!
I am thankful (in advance!) I get home on time today – with the FAA thing going on – many flights delayed and I am in DC and there is no earlier flight. Otherwise – Coach E gets to run some extra legs!
I'm thankful for sleep and caffeine too! I like my caffeine in the form of diet mountain dew . . . I thought about giving it up, but just can't. 🙂
I'm thankful that the B.O.B. and the Redhead will be sacrificing sleep to run the Ragnar to represent those of us who can't! Have fun and rock the course!
Rockstar!!!! LOL
Oh and btw…. GOOD LUCK!
Caffeine and sleep, what would we do without them?! Hope you survive the weekend. 🙂
Good luck this weekend!
thankful that i am going to dork out and see new moon at midnight with friends!
i had far less than 8 hours last night and i'm feeling it!
I need my sleep too. I'm a bear without it. But the Ragnar is so packed full of adrenaline that I didn't need any caffeine until after it was all over. THEN I wanted to crash! You'll have such a great time! I can't wait to hear all about it! Good luck!
I am thankful to be back home where I can get a decent beer…
ooh good luck conquering the sleep needs on the relay! so excited to hear about it once you wake up from the epic post-relay sleep 🙂
Oh man, I am totally thankful for those things too!
I'm thankful for the exact same two things. omg what a week this has been! 🙂
You are one of two blogger friends running in the big race across the great state of Florida!!! I am jealous! Good luck!!!! I can't wait to read all about it!
Good luck tomorrow!!
Chug that caffeine 🙂
Good luck at ragnar! I too am thankful for sleep (when it happens) and caffeine 🙂
I'd never heard of the Ragnar, but just looked it up…it sounds fun. I don't think I have 11 friends that would do something like that, though. I don't have a ton of info on what to eat or take, but I read that raisins are one of the best things you can take during a race. Strange, right? Have a great time! I am thankful for the weekend! Have a great one!
good luck this weekend and have an awesome time!!
I'm a little late getting to the show here, but good luck on the Ragnar this weekend! I'm having some caffeine in coffee form for you this morning…
I'm thankful for my bed. I just had a long arse day at Disney World and I can't wait to hit those delicious sheets! Let's set up that date soon lady!
