Well, I found something else that I now officially cannot live without. *Sorry it’s not running related. Here’s the back story.
As you all know my good friend, the Redhead, comes here to visit and do some of her long runs with me and the BRA. While she is here she uses my shower and I am embarrassed because I ALWAYS have a slow drain. Apparently, I have A LOT of hair (why are all of my Thankful Thursday’s hair removal related?) and I shed quite a bit.
I hate to call maintenance and I have used every drain remover liquid under the sun. None of them work worth a damn. But then the other day I was watching TV and saw this info-mercial. I didn’t purchase it because the made for TV stuff can take weeks to arrive. Instead, I mosied over to my local CVS and perused the As Seen on TV aisle and low and behold, it was there.
I plunked down my ten bucks for it and went home to give it a try. It’s pretty simple really, you shove the wire with the bristly end down the drain and pull out whatever is clogging it. Holy sh!t. When did a yeti and a chupacabra use my shower? Shudder. Today, I am thankful for the Turbo Snake. (I’m pretty sure the Redhead is too!)What are you thankful for today?*I got my seven miles in this morning and no bullies were out.
Best.Post.Ever. I just laughed my butt off! Thanks for sharing! I saw this too, and I actually live with a Yeti (a.k.a. my persian hubbs) and it sheds like a mofo! I am sooo gonna have to try this out. Happy Thursday! 🙂
And here I thought this was a family blog …
I'm thankful for the info commercial (also available at CVS) infamous Slap Chop marketed by that guy that slapped a hooker around in South Florida. It was given to me by a friend as a gag gift and the thing actually is effing amazing! It speeds up veggie prep time in the kitchen ten fold. Like he says, "We're making America Healthier again one slap at a time!" LOL…
HALLELUJAH!!!! Ya'll seriously.have.no.idea!!! LMAO! I am thankful for the Turbo Snake too! See you tomorrow! <3
Are you saying that one of you may be a Yeti and the other is a Chupacabra? Does the Redhead know you talk about her behind her back?
The thought of what is in my drains is just too scary to investigate – you're a brave woman!
Ick. My husband is pretty freaking hairy and some of the crap that clogs my drain TOTALLY grosses me out. And I end up with questions like you about the yeti and chupacabra.
I was wondering about this one…thanks for the info! I saw it at Target the other day, but bought the Jupiter Jack instead!(Which by the way is awesome for us Californians…) Now, I will be going back for the Turbo Snake 😉
eeeek, methinks I'll have to go find myself one of these too…. sigh.
OH MY GOSH! I'm laughing hysterically! I've seen that infomercial a couple times and I'm always like "ewwwww" but I can totally see the need. Great that it works!
I have that and love it too!!! I am also the proud owner of Slap Chop and Strap Perfects both of which I also love!
Hahahahaha!
Fellow Yeti here, and I'm going to get that product NOW! Every drain in my house is filled with my curly african american hair, that sort of reminds you of a McDonalds fry guy. I shed like a friggin pooch and it drives me crazy.
Ok, true gross story, I used to shed so much, when my daughter was little she once pooped out a long curly hair. I hate to claim it, but yep, there's no denying it.
Today, I am thankful for your blog saving my building maintenance from coming into my apartment once a month and snaking the drains. And providing me with lots of future laughter.

haha, you are not the only one with hair like that! My husband (who eats bugs for a living) gets so grossed out by how much hair is in my drain. He won't even clean it out for me. I swear that I could provide enough hair for a dolls head every time I clean out the drain!
Do you think they make an industrial sized one for our sewer that gets tree roots in it?? oh wait they do and the plumber owns one that charges 150 a pop!
Love it! 🙂
My dad used to get so mad at me when I was younger cause I clogged the drain constantly! i brush my hair alot before showering now and gather any I see heading towards the drain..eik
I need a Turbo Snake!
I'm thankful that chupacabras have not yet made it this far north.
OMG!! I need to buy that!! It seems like every 6 weeks or so I'm elbow-deep in my drain digging out Chewy! Thanks for the tip!
THANK YOU for not posting a photo of what you pulled out. i've seen enough hair-in-drain thanks to my sisters growing up 🙂
glad you discovered this so that all b.o.b. visitors can shower safely now!
HAHA! I'm a big ol' shedder too. ::hangs head in shame::
Yay for the seven miles. I um, slacked yesterday and will have to make up for it today–and then long run tomorrow. Whoops!
"When did a yeti and a chupacabra use my shower?" Snort laugh!!!!!!
Have a great weekend B.o.B!
FYI: I'm a big fan of both the magic powder and the turbo snake drain.
