Please remind me that I said this while I gut out 20 miles in the Florida heat. I’m just ready to go. I don’t know why, since I pretty much complained about my non-stop training in between the failed MCM and Gasparilla, but I’m ready to train again. I am officially bonkers. Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Nutters. Mental.
Hopefully as I start training for this tri my need for a spreadsheet will subside a bit. The tri training will really consist of some bike rides and some swims, since it’s a sprint tri. I definitely need to practice my transitions since that last run-swim-run thing I did was a hot mess. (Remember how I lost my shorts? I rule.) In addition, of course, to getting on the scary, mean bike.
Anyone else feeling the need to train? And track? And sweat? And complain?
I can’t wait for the training for marathon number 4 to begin.
Again, please remind me that I said all of this.
Happy, happy Tuesday.
I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU!!!!!! OMG!!!! Everyone's long run recaps are killing me. I want to log a 20 miler too! 🙂 (BTW – We're freaks!)
P.S. I MISS YOUR FACE!
and I love you.
and that is all. <3
You must be a runner
the most dedicated kind.
To ask for physical torture
almost all the time.
Five miles seems a lot,
ten or twenty even more.
If I attempted half of that,
you'd find me on the floor.
So run your run and peddle your bike,
and swim for your life, runner-girl.
I'll root you on and help you train,
to see you in the winner circle.
Spreadsheets are FAB! (but then I'm an accountant so have an excuse to like them!..lol….)
Hey Beth! I think I may be attempting my first swim training (as opposed to floating around on a raft) on Sunday. Are you going? I swear I'll help you on the bike if you show me how not to drown! Just bought new goggles and swimsuit today! I'm ready to splash. I need to practice transitions too.
I'm also in love with the spreadsheet. There's something so satisfying about having a plan. I don't know what I'm going to do after my half marathon this weekend.
Trying to get through a post-marathon injury and get back running again, and it wasn't until I read your post that I realized how much I miss my spreadsheet, and plugging in the times from my garmin, and building little graphs, etc., etc. Funny how that routine becomes so comforting.
I don't have anythign on my calendar at the moment and I also feel a little lost. I can relate!
What's a spreadsheet? LOL 🙂
I know how you feel. I'm ready to train again too. Between a sprint tri, being down for a week with a cold, and my first century ride i've had enough taper and down time.
I felt that way last year after my marathon – it was all I could do not to sign up for a fall full. It's a disease!
Me too! I'm unwrapping my plan next week.
Spreadsheet? You don't need no stinkin spreadsheet. You've graduated to a full on Access database.
Must admit that I've got that feeling as well. I was thinking it was weird to have these ants in my pants so it's nice to know I'm not alone. Big question for me -what am I gonna do about it? Holls
not crazy at all! i've got the itch and know i should probably start training for Chicago soon…especially with all my random running post-injury. for me, summer just isn't the same unless there's a training schedule on my wall and early saturday long runs. hehe.
I'm ready to start training for another half. I think we just need another goal, maybe?
I just finished two back to back marathons in six days and I really cannot wait to start training for my July full next week! Yes, we're crazy! But, crazy is growing on me and I think I wear it well 🙂
I am 2 weeks away from my first 20 miler in this training cycle. (I will do 4 total before San Fran in July) I will remind you what you are missing as I battle the South Florida 90 degree heat and 110 percent humidity, at 6:00am.
i'm a spreadsheet whore too. at least you can still put swimming and biking into your spreadsheet? triathloning definitely counts as training ya know…. especially since i'd probably drown, swimming is the hardest thing ever to me.
I train and complain but "noboby" listens 😉
