Hey everyone, it’s Coach EK, guest blogging once again. This time, I want to take a slightly different look at one of my favorite activities that does not involve railroad tracks (long story – different obsession).

It’s only Running.

It’s a hobby. It’s a release. It’s a de-stresser (if that’s a word). It’s health.
It’s friendships. It’s camaraderie. It’s shared experiences. It’s love and loss.

It’s only Running.

It’s teamwork. It’s solo expeditions. It’s happy memories. It’s sad memories.
It’s enjoyment. It’s sweat. It’s pounds lost. It’s logbooks. It’s magazines.

It’s only Running.

It’s laps around a track. It’s miles in the woods. It’s exploring urban landscapes.
It’s starting before sunrise. It’s starting after sunset. It’s all the time in between.

It’s only Running.

It’s new shoe smell. It’s clean running clothes. It’s dirty running clothes. It’s Febreze.
It’s hats. It’s visors. It’s cool sunglasses. It’s gloves and scarves in the winter.

It’s only Running.

It’s dirt. It’s sand. It’s hills. It’s asphalt. It’s rocks and roots and trails.
It’s rain. It’s wind. It’s snow. It’s cold. It’s heat. It’s thunder. It’s rainbows.

It’s only Running.

If it becomes more than any of the above, take a breath, then take a step back and remember,

It’s Only Running.
